There are 2,638,024 confirmed cases of the Covid-19 pandemic, with 79,956 new cases recorded yesterday.
Zimbabwe recorded one death yesterday bringing the total number of deaths to 4 whilst the total number of cases remain unchanged.
South Africa recorded a 170 jump in the number of new cases to bring the total number of cases to 3,635. 7 new deaths were recorded yesterday and the total death toll is now at 65.
Zambia recorded 4 new cases and Mozambique and Botswanaboth recorded 2 new cases.
Trump signs order on immigration green card suspension
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to temporarily suspend the approval of some green cards. The measure, which contains a number of exemptions, is to last for 60 days and then could be extended, he said.
China keeps virus deaths at zero
China reports no new Covid-19 deaths for the eighth day in a row. The country reported 10 new positive tests for the past day, down from 30 the previous day. The number of imported cases – travellers returning from overseas – declined, down to six from 23 the day before.
