Eureka Gold Mine continues to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Guruve district through various community projects. The mine has relocated 41 homesteads since 1999 and is set to move 15 more families this year as part of its expansion plan.

Minister of State for Mashonaland Central, Captain (Retired) Christopher Magomo, commended Eureka for its role in achieving Zimbabwe’s economic goals, noting, “The mining industry is crucial, contributing 12% to GDP and 80% to exports. Eureka is a key player in both economic growth and social development.”

In addition to relocation, Eureka is upgrading Muroiwa Primary School with two new classrooms and staff cottages, at a cost of US$150,000. The mine has also drilled 24 solar-powered boreholes, benefiting 600 households and 2,100 students at Guruve Primary School.

Mine Manager Tinago Tinago emphasized, “Our projects focus on sustainable, long-lasting impact. We’re committed to improving education, water access, and healthcare in the community.”

Eureka’s donation of 240 blankets and 78 sheets to Guruve District Hospital will improve patient care, further solidifying its commitment to the district’s well-being.
