In a tragic incident, the local police are actively investigating the murder of Narvel Ndlovu, who succumbed to fatal injuries sustained from a stabbing at Nkayi Hospital. The incident took place on February 29, 2024, at approximately 1700 hours, within the Chief Malisa area in Silobela.
In a statement the Police in the Midlands said the deceased, Narvel Ndlovu, and the suspected assailant, 20-year-old Nkosikhona Ncube, both residents of Village Rungu under Chief Malisa, Silobela, were involved in a heated altercation, reportedly stemming from a romantic dispute. The disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, leading to a scuffle.
During the altercation, Nkosikhona Ncube allegedly drew an Okapi knife from his pocket and stabbed Ndlovu once in the neck. Subsequently, Ndlovu collapsed, lost consciousness, and Ncube fled the scene. Ndlovu was swiftly transported to Nkayi Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries upon admission.The police are urging members of the public to seek peaceful resolutions for disputes and avoid resorting to violence.
Additionally, a plea is made for anyone possessing information that could aid in the apprehension of the suspect, Nkosikhona Ncube, to come forward and contact their nearest Police Station.
