Five Arrested for Theft of Fertilizer During Presidential Inputs Distribution.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of five individuals in connection with the theft of 23 bags of Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer during the Presidential inputs distribution event in Zowa, Zvimba. The suspects, identified as Tatenda Monomer (26), Cleopas Muntanga (24), Tanatswa Koroka (25), Gilbert Gutuza (40), and Conrad Befura (40), were apprehended on November 1, 2024.


Following their arrest, police recovered four bags of Compound D fertilizer and an additional four bags of Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer, bringing some relief to local farmers affected by the incident. The theft highlights ongoing concerns regarding security during critical agricultural distribution events, as authorities work to ensure that essential supplies reach those in need without interference.
