A 24-Year-old Zvishavane man has been slapped with a 90-day jail term after the Mberengwa magistrate found him guilty of domestic violence.
It was the state’s case that on 20th October 2020 the accused Allen Nyoni brutally assaulted his wife Abigail Ncube after she confronted him about a suspected extramarital affair.
The magistrate found Nyoni guilty as charged and sentenced him to 90 days in prison but suspended the sentence on condition he does not commit a similar crime in the next five years.
In what maybe described as symptoms of Stockholm syndrome the wife wanted the charges dropped as she could not bear having the father of her child in prison.
