Small scale miners and women in mining have been urged to register their employees with the National Social Security Authority to better manage their finances and to put them in good standing when the unfortunate occurs.
This emerged at a training workshop for small scale miners on the process and benefits of registering their employees with NSSA.
Speaking to Great Dyke News 24, a metallurgical lecturer at the Zimbabwe School of Mines (ZSM) Tirivacho Jacha had this to say.
‘’Most of the small scale miners do not know how to manage their finances, now that they have the right information, they now know how to manage their money. Apart from that we have got a lot of accidents happening due to carelessness and due to lack of information. Now that they have the proper training, they are now going back there to implement good safety procedures,’’ said Jacha.
Mberengwa small-scale miner, Faith Moyo urged women to take advantage of the institutions and facilities that make life easier for them and their employees.
‘’ One way I benefitted is learning about the women’s bank. There are ladies struggling in mining whilst there is an opportunity through a women’s bank for women to earn more money,’’ she said.
