Preparations for the Shamva Minex expo are at an advanced stage with organisers expecting more than three hundred small scale miners to take part in the event to be held on the 26th of March in the mining town.

Speaking to Great Dyke News 24, Minex Sales and Marketing Officer Patience Tsikira said they have managed to bring on board the local community in Shamva.

“We managed to create hype and traction especially to the local community in Shamva during our site visit last week,” she said

‘There are over 300 miners who are most likely to attend the Minex Shamva Expo and a number of suppliers including Boltgas, Shepco, Performance Laboratories, and Zimlabs are going to be exhibiting during the expo.

“Our team on the ground has managed to engage critical stakeholders including the local chief, those in the education, health and mining sectors regarding the Expo,” she said.

Tsikira also called upon artisanal miners to register for the exhibition adding that there are going to be a lot of giveaways during the event.

“We are still calling on suppliers to come and exhibit, be it small local suppliers, we want them to be part of the event,” she said.

“There are going to be giveaways by the suppliers to the small scale miners based on the basic equipment they need.

“Minex is targeting all suppliers of equipment, consumables, and services, be it, mining air compressor sets, generators, chemicals, millers, explosives, personal protective equipment, basic foods, insurance companies and banking services to exhibit at the expo,” said Tsikira.

Minex is a physical and virtual information platform designed to ensure that the mining value chain is brought together for sustainable economic growth.

Minex connects small scale miners with leading stakeholders in the mining sector that include suppliers, buyers, financial institutions, policymakers, and the community.
