ZMF Speaks On Delay In Cadastre Database Implementation.

The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) President Henrietta Rushwaya is set to engage the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development over the delays in implementation of the automation of the Mining Cadastre Information System.

In a statement today, Rushwaya revealed that she is making a follow-up to make sure that the issuance of licences is expedited.

“Regrettably, we note of the delays in the issuance of certificates of registration at most Provincial Mining Directors office (PMDs) some dating back to as far as 2016.

“The Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) President will make every effort to make a follow-up and make sure that the issuance of licences is expedited.

“It is imperative for ZMF that every prospective or registered miner services are provided at PMD offices efficiently and effectively. Thus, the ZMF President will constantly examine to improve bureaucratic tendencies at PMD offices,” reads the statement.

She added that, “However, there is need to mention that some of these bureaucratic tendencies are due to the fact that the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development lack; Human Capital-shortage of technical personnel especially the surveyors, Resources-shortage of cars, No master maps.

“The Secretariat is compiling names of people whose applications have been delayed.

“The ZMF President will approach the ZMF Patron who is The Minister of Mines with names that will be submitted so that he instructs that these applications issuance of licences to be expedited.”
