President Emmerson Mnangagwa has praised stakeholders in the health and childcare sectors for their swift and effective response to the cholera outbreak that gripped the country earlier this year.
Speaking on the government’s achievements in public health, President Mnangagwa highlighted the importance of multi-sectoral interventions in containing the spread of the disease.
“On health and childcare issues, I commend stakeholders in the sector for implementing multi-pronged interventions which saw us combat the cholera outbreak during the first half of the year,” said the President.
The cholera outbreak, which posed a significant public health challenge, was tackled through coordinated efforts between government departments, health professionals, and development partners, ensuring improved awareness, access to clean water, and sanitation facilities.
The President’s remarks underscore the government’s continued commitment to safeguarding public health and addressing preventable diseases through collaborative and proactive measures.
