Maglass Water Crisis Sparks Cholera Fears as Residents Demand Urgent Action.

Maglass residents are sounding the alarm over an ongoing water crisis that has disrupted daily life and heightened fears of a potential cholera outbreak. The persistent water shortages have left households struggling with basic chores, while unsanitary conditions continue to pose a public health risk.

The lack of accessible, clean water has forced many residents to resort to open defecation, as toilets remain either inaccessible or unusable.

Council Chairperson, Takarangana Keta, attributed the crisis to an electrical fault that interrupted water pumping services. This situation has been further exacerbated by ongoing load shedding.

He said in response, the council is installing a direct water supply line through Kandodo to alleviate the crisis, especially in the mining areas.
