Police in Magunje have arrested two men in connection with the unlawful possession of narcotics and ammunition following a tip-off from local residents.
According to a statement from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Edward Muzavazi (53) was apprehended on September 12, 2024, at Chitoro Village, Dandawa, Batanai area. Muzavazi was found in possession of one bullet of an FN rifle and 985 grammes of dagga. He is currently in custody pending further investigations.
In a related case, police also arrested Maxwell Muririma (46) in the same village for cultivating 119 dagga plants. Isaac Chitoro, another resident, was taken into custody for being found with 375 grammes of dagga. Both men face charges related to the illegal cultivation and possession of dangerous drugs.
The police have called on members of the public to continue providing information that can lead to the arrest of those involved in unlawful activities.
The accused individuals are expected to appear in court soon.
