Traditional leaders in the Great Dyke say it is important for government to allocate adequate funding in the 2021 National Budget to institutions and authorities that maintain law and order in the mining sector to ensure the personnel sent in to maintain peace or enforce laws are effective in their execution of duty.
Speaking recently Chief Mataruse of Mberengwa said the current anarchical scenario in areas like his jurisdiction where institutions appear to be giving up and security forces are joining in the illegal mining activities is not good for surrounding communities.
