The Meteorological Services Department forecasts thunderstorms and rainfall in various regions of the country, including Matebeleland South, Masvingo, and the southern part of Midlands.
Met Department deputy director, Mrs Linia Gopo highlighted the possibility of substantial cloud cover and potential rainfall of up to 10mm within a 24-hour period in Matebeleland South and Masvingo.
She specified that on Tuesday, the southern segment of Matebeleland is likely to experience showers, while other areas may witness a combination of sunny conditions or a mix of sun and clouds.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the Meteorological Department projected cloudy weather for all provinces, with the likelihood of rain showers in some areas. Thursday’s forecast indicated widespread rainfall across the country, with anticipated amounts ranging between 15mm and 20mm.
As the week progresses, Gopo conveyed that Friday is expected to bring additional rainfall coupled with thunderstorms in Matebeleland, Masvingo, and the Midlands. Saturday, on the other hand, is predicted to be relatively drier, although Manicaland may experience sunny weather.
The Meteorological Department advised vigilance, pointing out that even as rainfall amounts may diminish, localized flooding remains a potential concern, especially in low-lying areas.
