As part of its strategy to reduce reliance on grid electricity, ZESA is promoting the adoption of solar energy within Zimbabwe’s agricultural and ferrochrome sectors.
Speaking this week Dr. Sydney Gata, ZESA’s Executive Chairman, indicated that discussions are underway to transition these sectors to solar power, which could inject an additional 300 to 400 MW into the national grid.
This initiative, along with plans to install solar power stations on commercial farms, is expected to ease the pressure of load shedding and contribute to the nation’s green energy goals.
