Zimplats is set to undergo a significant change in its auditing arrangements as it appoints Axcentium as its new independent auditor. This decision comes in the wake of Deloitte Zimbabwe’s announcement to exit the country by October 31, 2024.
According to Mining Zimbabwe Zimplats confirmed the change ahead of its Annual General Meeting on October 24, where the appointment of Axcentium will be pending shareholder approval. The decision follows a thorough due diligence process by the Zimplats board, endorsing Axcentium to take over from Deloitte.
Charity Mtwazi, Managing Partner of Deloitte Zimbabwe, emphasized that while the rebranding signifies a transition, the firm will maintain its commitment to high-quality services tailored to the Zimbabwean market.
