Zimplats has clinched victory at the 2025 Chamber of Mines Intermines Golf Tournament — the famous Jumbo — held at the Bulawayo Country Club.

The platinum producer outplayed a strong field that included defending champions Mimosa Mine, along with RioZim, Hwange, Unki, Jena, Freda Rebecca, How Mine, Trojan, Bindura Nickel Corporation, Renco Mine, and several suppliers.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Zimplats Team 4 Captain, Sam Nkala, credited the win to teamwork, discipline, and focus. He said early preparations and a strong message from the leadership kept the team motivated throughout the competition.

Mimosa General Manager, Stephen Ndiyamba, congratulated Zimplats and applauded his team for hosting a memorable tournament. He noted that this year’s event was special, coinciding with Mimosa’s 100th anniversary since platinum was first mined in Zimbabwe in 1925.

First played in 1972 at Mazowe Mine, the Jumbo has grown into the premier sporting and networking event for the mining industry. Played under the four-ball better-ball Stapleford format, it brings together mining executives and suppliers to compete, connect, and celebrate milestones.
