A 54-year-old Zvishavane man has been remanded in custody as he awaits trial in a case where he is accused of sexually abusing a 38-year-old mentally impaired woman.
Darlington Moyo of Mtambu village under chief Masunda in Zvishavane reportedly forced himself on a mentally impaired Shamiso Homera.
It is the stateās case that the accused met the complainant fetching firewood and forced himself onto the victim without consent and later threatened to kill her if she was to report.
The complainant then became pregnant forcing her concerned mother to report to the police which led to the arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, from 25 November to 10 December, the world observes 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence.
