182 Arrested For Defying Lockdown.

Government revealed that the police have arrested 182 people for defying the 21-day lockdown announced by President Emmerson Mnangagwa last week.

Great Dyke News 24 established that most of the violations are related to people operating shebeens in places like Sunningdale 2 where it’s business as usual.

Presenting an update on Covid-19 as part of the Government appointed taskforce on the disease in Harare, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa said government is aware that citizens continue to struggle in practicing social distancing hence police will take action against those caught on the wrong side of the lockdown .

“The police will continue to monitor and where there is need to take action against those on the wrong side of the lockdown they will take action.” “Some citizens continue to struggle in practicing social distancing. Government urges each and every one of us to observe it. We have to be each other’s keeper to beat this invisible enemy, coronavirus,” Minister Mutsvangwa said.
