The Zimbabwe Republic Police has revealed that a four-year-old has shot and killed himself while playing with his father’s gun in Ruwa.
According to the ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the police are conducting investigations into this unfortunate incident.
” On 01/3/20, a 4-year-old minor died of a gunshot wound after he accessed his father’s firearm from an unlocked safe.
“Police are conducting investigations into this unfortunate incident. Firearms should be properly secured at all times as required by law,” he said.
In another case, investigations have been instituted where a 9-year-old minor died of abdominal trauma in Harare a week after he was allegedly assaulted by another minor aged 7 while they were playing. The minor died at a local hospital where he was receiving treatment.
