Zvishavane is working towards gaining municipal status by 2025, with the Zimbabwean government appointing a commission to assess the town’s readiness for the upgrade. If the commission’s findings are favorable, Zvishavane could achieve full municipal status by next year, according to Town Council Chairman Takarangana Keta.
Keta expressed optimism about the town’s progress.
“We are looking forward to achieving municipal status by 2025. In terms of population and business activity, we are already there, though we still need to meet a few remaining requirements.”
