Liberty Banda (32) of Bendaberry Farm has been convicted of theft after stealing wheat from his employer’s field.
On October 5, 2024, Banda was assigned to harvest wheat using a combine harvester. However, on October 11, he executed a plan to steal 11 bags (50kg each) of wheat, concealing them in the harvester before transporting the loot to his mother’s residence.
Authorities, acting on a tip-off, arrested Banda and recovered all the stolen wheat, valued at USD235. Banda was found guilty in the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court and is set to appear for sentencing tomorrow.
