The Zimbabwe Republic Police have reported an armed robbery that occurred on the Harare-Masvingo highway near Chicken Slice, Mvuma, resulting in a substantial theft. The incident took place on 10 June 2024, around 10:00 PM.
In a statement ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said Nesbeth Ncube, (41) a regional manager for a stock feeds company in Masvingo, fell victim to the crime.
He said Ncube was traveling from Nyika to Harare when he boarded a vehicle with five male occupants at Croco Motors in Masvingo. Shortly after passing Fairfields, one of the passengers produced a knife and demanded Ncube’s cell phone, which he surrendered. Another passenger brandished a pistol and demanded Ncube’s traveling bag, which contained $21,900 in cash.
The robbers then pushed Ncube out of the vehicle near Chicken Slice in Mvuma after slowing down. The police are currently seeking any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
