Vusumuzi Ncube, a gardener employed by Nokel Security Company, has been sentenced to four years in prison for stealing a firearm. The theft occurred on 11 November 2023 when Ncube took advantage of a moment of distraction by the driver to steal a Star pistol, valued at $2,000, from the glove compartment of the company-provided vehicle.

The stolen firearm was later sold to an individual known only as “Alex,” an armed robber. The crime was discovered the same day at around 10:00 AM and promptly reported to the police. Ncube was arrested and entered a plea of guilty on 14 December 2024.

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe confirmed that Ncube was sentenced on 18 December 2024 to four years of imprisonment for the theft.
