With schools set to reopen for the first academic term of 2025, parents have raised concerns over what they describe as unreasonable grocery demands by some boarding schools.

In separate interviews, several parents expressed frustration at the lengthy lists of items required by schools, saying the demands are financially burdensome and unrealistic for many families.

The first term of the 2025 academic year runs from Tuesday, January 14, to Thursday, April 10. As preparations intensify, parents are calling on schools to review their requirements and adopt more reasonable policies.
