Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation with over 228 million people, has officially become a BRICS partner. The announcement was made by Brazil ,the current BRICS president.
Nigeria joins Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan in the expanded group. BRICS, originally formed to promote investment and financial stability, has since grown to address global governance and security issues.
This new partnership marks a significant step for Nigeria’s role in South-South cooperation and reforming global governance.
