Harare, Zimbabwe – February 20, 2025

Buy Zimbabwe has launched a nationwide research survey aimed at identifying the most preferred emerging and established products across various industries. The study, conducted by Select Research, seeks to establish consumer preferences in five major regions—Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Mutare, and Masvingo.

The research covers a wide range of products and services, including agricultural produce, foodstuffs, beverages, clothing and textiles, detergents, electronics, telecommunications, financial institutions, medical aid, funeral assurance, and mining companies, among others.

According to Buy Zimbabwe, the study was commissioned to understand shifting consumer preferences, especially with the rise of new product offerings that are competing with established brands. The results will shed light on market trends, pricing influences, and consumer behavior in Zimbabwe’s fast-changing economy.

“The market is evolving, and new products are challenging traditional consumer choices. This research will provide critical insights into what Zimbabweans prefer and why,” the statement from Buy Zimbabwe reads.

A major outcome of the study will be the revamping of the Buy Zimbabwe Awards, which will now be known as the Zimbrands Awards. Unlike previous years, where winners were selected by an adjudication committee, this year’s awards will be determined by consumer input, making the selection process more market-driven.

Consumers can participate in the survey by accessing the link on Buy Zimbabwe’s social media pages Facebook: @BuyZimOfficial and Instagram & X: @BuyZim_Official

The results of the research are expected to be released in a month’s time.

Buy Zimbabwe reaffirmed its commitment to promoting local products, emphasizing that the study will help enhance market access for emerging brands while strengthening the country’s local production base.
