Invictus Energy Limited is gearing up for a big year in 2025, with several key initiatives in motion, including a gas-to-power pilot project and new exploration activities, according to the company’s CEO, Scott Macmillan.
In an operational update, Macmillan highlighted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed last year with Dallaglio, the owners of Eureka Gold Mine, and Himoinsa, which provides power to the mine. The agreement aims to transition the mine’s power supply from diesel and grid electricity to gas-generated power sourced from the Mukuyu gas field, located about 50 kilometers away.
“This pilot project will not only provide an alternative power source but will also allow us to gather extended reservoir information and prove the viability of a new gas industry in Zimbabwe,” Macmillan stated.
To support this development, Macmillan said Invictus has conducted a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), building on its 2019 assessment—the largest ever conducted in Zimbabwe. This paves the way for the company to extract, liquefy, and transport gas across Special Grant 4571 and its wider exploration portfolio.
