The 5th edition of the Zimbabwe Agriculture Media Awards (ZAMA), which had been scheduled for 28 August 2025 in Harare, has been postponed to a later date, organizers announced.
In a statement released on Monday, the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) and Mejrkh Communications, co-organisers of the annual awards, said the decision followed ongoing consultations with stakeholders in the agriculture and media sectors.
“After careful consideration, the organising committee has resolved to postpone the event to a later date. This decision has not been taken lightly, but has been necessitated by the need to finalise ongoing consultations with key stakeholders,” the statement read.
The organisers said the move was aimed at ensuring the awards maintain credibility, inclusivity, and broad industry participation. They added that the delay would allow ZAMA to continue living up to its reputation of celebrating professionalism, innovation, and excellence in agricultural reporting and broadcasting.
ZAMA has grown in stature since its inception, and this year’s edition received a record 148 entries from journalists across the country.
“We regret any inconvenience this adjustment may have caused to stakeholders and the wider media community,” the organisers said, while reaffirming their commitment to hosting a high-profile event that promotes quality agricultural journalism.
A new date for the awards will be announced once consultations are completed.
