Palawani Lakeworld Resort has commended Mimosa Mining Company for its continued support in transforming the destination into a thriving center for recreation, agriculture, and corporate development.

Speaking recently, Palawani Chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere praised the platinum group metals producer for its role in infrastructure and enterprise growth.

“Mimosa’s support has been instrumental in shaping Palawani into what it is today,” Hwengwere said.
Through Mimosa’s backing, Palawani has established a team-building and conferencing facility, now a popular venue for corporate retreats and leadership training. The mining company also supported the resort’s diversification into fish farming, horticulture, and apiculture—initiatives that promote food security and sustainable income generation.

These developments fall under Mimosa’s Local Enterprise Development (LED) and Supplier Support Programs, which aim to empower local businesses and stimulate economic growth in the Midlands region. Hwengwere described the resort’s four-year journey as “a testament to what can be achieved through strategic collaboration.”

Beyond Palawani, Mimosa has injected millions into five local suppliers—Original Technology, Rytecraft, Byword Motors, Boltrec, and Palawani itself—to expand operations, boost production, and tap into regional export markets. Achievements include automated manufacturing plants, improved transportation services, and expanded vehicle service centres.

The programs offer funding, working capital, and technical support, with a focus on empowerment.
