Vice President General (Rtd) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga has called on miners to uphold integrity and responsibility in managing Zimbabwe’s mineral resources, emphasizing that the nation’s vast mineral wealth must benefit both present and future generations.
Speaking at the official opening of the 2025 Mine Entra Expo in Bulawayo, Dr Chiwenga reminded stakeholders that mineral resources belong to the people of Zimbabwe.
“To the miners, you are the custodians of our mineral wealth. Handle it with integrity. It is not yours—it is for the people of this land and future generations,” he said.
Running under the theme “Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining,” the 27th edition of Mine Entra has attracted over 240 exhibitors from the mining, engineering, transport, and construction sectors. The annual industrial showcase, which runs until Friday, serves as a vital platform for networking, partnership-building, and dialogue on key challenges affecting the mining industry.
Dr. Chiwenga reaffirmed government’s commitment to promoting a sustainable and value-driven mining sector, one that not only fuels economic growth but also ensures environmental responsibility and community development.
