FC Platinum coach Joel Luphahla is grateful for the passionate support his team receives from their vociferous fans, even when the chips are down. On Saturday, when the Zvishavane platinum miners confidently humiliated Manica Diamonds 2-0, the supporters were fully behind them. Even in the narrow 1-2 defeat to Ngezi Platinum Stars, the loyal fans rallied around their team.
Tomorrow, the resolute miners travel to Rufaro Stadium for Matchday 3 against stubborn newcomers FC Hunters. Luphahla is once again urging fans to stand behind the squad.
“Like we always say, on Saturday when we beat Manica Diamonds 2-0, they were amazing—from the first minute to the last,” said Luphahla. “At Ngezi Platinum Stars, it was the same. Whether we were leading or losing, they supported the team. That’s what I love about our fans: they don’t turn away when we concede; they get behind the players.”
He appealed to traveling supporters—and others who can make the trip: “Come and support the team. We want to put smiles on their faces. Seein our fans so happy gives us confidence and motivates us to do more. Please travel with us and be our 12th player. It means everything for the players to feel that backing.”
