Cases worldwide are 1, 780,657 with 108,837 deaths. The United States of America has more than half a million cases, with New York having more cases than any other country. The USA now has the most coronavirus-related deaths in the worldof 20,580 and Italy has 19,468.
The number of coronavirus deaths in Spain fell for a third consecutive day on Saturday, with 510 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours — the smallest overnight increase since March 23.
South Africa’s number of new cases declined from 69 to 25 yesterday as the number of new cases is now 2,028. There was one death recorded and 410 cases are recovering from the virus.
Zimbabwe recorded one more positive case to bring the total number of cases to 14. No changes in the death toll were recorded. A total 547 cases have been conducted.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has advised in a daily update memo that in line with the decentralization strategy for testing, training of lab scientists in Bulawayo for Covid-19 testing is currently taking place. Once completed, these will provide testing services for the Southern Region starting on Monday next week.
Zambia still has 40 cases and 2 deaths with 28 cases recovering from the virus.
Mozambique’s statistics remained unchanged as the number still stands at 20 cases being positive for Covid-19.
