FC Platinum vice-captain Kelvin Madzongwe says it is now or never and the team is on course to reach the CAF Champions’ League group stages for a third time.
FC Platinum take on Simba Stars at 4 pm today and a win or draw will take the team through.
Madzongwe who spoke to Great Dyke News 24 in Tanzania said he is confident on the team spirit and morale ahead of the game.
“All we have been talking about in camp is telling the boys to fight because the match is not over. To me we just played the first 45 minutes and then today’s game is more like the second 45 minutes so we have to really work hard for us to progress to the next phase”, said Madzongwe.
Turning to the hype and interest the game has generated in Tanzania with rival fans of YANGA opting to support FC Platinum Madzongwe had this to say:
“In football its good to know that people are cheering you up, supporting you, but these games are pressure games. We are playing away from home and we know how they are like at home. They have an incredible record around here. They have the 12th man because they are home, their fans will be here. So, for us we were unlucky fans were not allowed. Fans always play a big part on how the team plays”, he said.
He added that the match is about the team and they will be focusing on themselves.
“This game is all about us, how we apply ourselves and everything that we have been doing to prepare for this game. Games are not played by fans but games are played by the eleven players inside. So, the best men take their chances, they win the game “, he said.
