FC Platinum right winger Donald “Spanner” Teguru is ready to take on ASC Jaraaf again when the two sides clash on Sunday in Dakar.
With FC Platinum having lost the first leg playoff in Harare on a one nil scoreline, Pure Platinum Play are aiming for a win and a place in the CAF Confederation group stages.
Teguru made his debut last Sunday after having missed the CAF Champions League preliminary games due to delays in the release of his clearance by Zambian side Buildcon FC.
“Looking at how we played in the last game and chances we spurned, it was sad , ” Teguru remarks .”It is now up to us to pick up our feet and get a good result on Sunday.”
“It is going to be a different ball game ,” he adds. “I know a lot of people have ruled us off and even our opponents think we don’t stand a chance”.
“All I can say for now is as a team we have self introspected and told each other the truth and we are more motivated than before”.
FC Platinum had their first training session this morning after enduring a 15 hour flight from Zimbabwe .
The team trained hard in the sand cloud conditions. Sand cloud is a mixture of mist and dust which lowers visibility index.
Signs and sights from the first training session were not good as the players and technical team struggled to adapt.
Coach Norman Mapeza travelled with 27 players. Kelvin Madzongwe and William Sitima are doubtful due to injuries.
