In a heart-wrenching turn of events near the B4 mine in Wonderer, Shurugwi, a dispute over mining rights escalated into a fatal confrontation.
ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said on September 4th, 2023, a 19-year-old, Endrique Chakaitwa, met a tragic end as he and his friend, Mike Kagoro, found themselves in a perilous situation.
He said Endrique and Mike had been engaged in gold mining activities within the B4 mine when an ominous gang of six unknown adults approached them, demanding they vacate the mine. As the duo was collecting the gold ore they had painstakingly extracted, the situation took a violent turn.
