Government says it has noted that there is a serious shortage of test kits in the country and frantic efforts are being made to ensure the challenge is addressed.
Speaking this week defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri who is the chairperson of the Ad Hoc Inter ministerial Covid-19 Taskforce said an order has been placed to procure more kits.
Health experts have in recent weeks called on the authorities to work on increasing the number of people tested for the pandemic, a call also made by mine worker representatives.
As on the 3rd of September 2020, Zimbabwe had 6 678 confirmed cases, including 5 263 recoveries and 206 deaths.
