Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga has urged the private sector to play a pivotal role in bolstering the government’s endeavors by investing in and financing the agricultural sector.
Speaking during the 11th Annual National Agricultural Business Conference at the ongoing Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare, Vice President Chiwenga emphasized the paramount significance of agriculture as the foremost economic pillar capable of uplifting the nation’s prosperity.
In his address, he called upon the private sector to redouble its commitment to financing the diverse value chains within the agricultural sector.
He stressed the importance of continuous assessment and development of suitable financing models by the private sector to align with and bolster government initiatives. Furthermore, Vice President Chiwenga underscored that a substantial 67 percent of the population depends on agricultural activities for their livelihoods.
