At least 53 ZANU PF aspiring councillors are uncontested after opposition political parties failed to field candidates in most wards across the country, Great Dyke News 24 reports.
Addressing the media in capital today ZANU PF Political Commissar Mike Bimha said most of the National Assembly seats will be contested.
āWe now have members who are right through without running the big race.
āThere are 53 uncontested seats in the local authorities.
āOn MPs, I still have to get information, but I would like to believe that ā from the reports we are getting from all the provinces ā most of the seats are contested, but, as I said, we are still getting information.
āBut we are now definite about the 53 wards that are uncontested,ā he said.
