The Midlands provincial mining director, Tariro Ndlovu has been arrested in connection with a controversial ruling he made following a mine dispute in Mberengwa, Great Dyke News 24 reports.
In an interview, Midlands Province deputy assistant Inspector Fungai Ngawagare confirmed the arrest but said he is yet to get more details.
“Tariro Ndlovu has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti -Corruption Commission (ZACC).For now we do not have further details.
“So far we haven’t received any documents yet because we usually receive a document stating that someone is in police custody so when ZACC is being involved as an independent commission it does its own investigations,” he said.
According to well-placed sources, Ndlovu (53) presided over a mine dispute in 2014 after which he ruled in favor of the other party. The other party then appealed to the High Court and won the case.
Ndlovu has failed to uphold the High Court ruling.
