The Midlands province has recorded 370 covid-19 cases as of this week with Gweru having the largest number followed by Kwekwe.
Speaking during a Yafm webinar series Beating Covid-19 Infections hosted on Friday, the 29th of January 2021, Midlands Provincial Medical Director Dr Fabian Mashingaidze said the province had recorded 370 cases.
āGweru has recorded 130 cases, 9 in Chirumhanzu, 25 and 47 in Gokwe North and South respectively, Kwekwe 109, Mberengwa 3, Shurugwi 40 and 3 cases in Zvishavane,ā he said.
Dr Mashingaidze said most of their district hospitals have the capacity to admit patients.
Speaking on the same programme, Dr Wilson Mupariwa of the Midlands State University encouraged covid-19 patients to take self isolation seriously.
āThose who can isolate should not share a room even with their family members or use the same utensils as they may infect others”.
The first in the series of the webinar was a success as many people participated and got their questions answered. The panel included medical experts, business people, covid-19 survivors as well as government officials.
