The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) has called upon all mining companies to bring along their whole value chain to this yearās mining village exhibition to be held during the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show slated for 19th to 24th of August 2019.
ZAS Chief Executive officer Dr.Anxious Masuka, in an interview with Great Dyke News 24 said the intention is to show that the mining ecosystem is such an important ingredient and actor in the national development discourse.
āFor 2019 we have six sections lined up including the mining village, our expectation is that we move away from a shared value concept to creation of ecosystems.
āSo we are expecting mining companies top bring their whole ecosystem that is the mining value chain itself displaying the mine and activities that they undertake, (and) their suppliers but more importantly, how mines are relevant in the lives of farmers.
“Some companies that are doing the shared value project with us on livestock production will be able to highlight the activities while companies that are already assisting in health services in water and sanitation will also be able to articulate those issues.
āThe intention is to show that the mining ecosystem is such an important ingredient and actor in the national development discourse,ā he said.
He also urged exhibitors to register quickly saying exhibition space was running out. He added that the show will this year have 227 exhibitors compared to 219 last year.
Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Agriculture Society (ZAS) has moved forward by one week, dates of its rebranded Zimbabwe Agriculture Show from August 26 to 31 (as earlier announced) to August 19 to 24.
