Minex, the virtual and physical mining platform will this Thursday launch an innovative and revolutionary app that will change the way players in the mining sector interact and access information for conducting business operations.
Minex chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere said the launch to be held at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show will leapfrog the mining sector to cutting edge technology as it has been lagging behind other sectors.
‘’ Miners in Zimbabwe will have an integrated application, something that can get people to shop online for the equipment that they need, get the news and also converse.
So, it’s Minex because we are not just a physical but also a virtual platform. We always wanted a one-stop technological center so to speak, where a miner can connect with other miners, can look for the equipment that he needs can listen to their favourite station, obviously YA FM and that’s why we are so excited.’’ he said.
Hwengwere said the new app will aggregate the information and functional needs of miners hence eliminating the need to join several WhatsApp groups.
Minex runs a number of exhibitions for small scale- miners across the country and produces the Miners and Suppliers Handbook, as well as organizing the Mining Media Awards which honour journalists who excel in reporting the mining sector.
This year’s awards are set for the 3rd of October in Harare.
