London-listed Premier African Minerals is close to resuming operations at its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum project after receiving positive updates from plant supplier Enprotec. The flotation plant, critical for lithium recovery, does not require major changes, according to Enprotec’s operational review.
The company has been optimizing processes such as reagent dosing and water flow rates, with final testing expected to conclude this week. Despite delays, Premier CEO George Roach highlighted significant advancements, projecting spodumene concentrate production costs around US$500 per ton once optimization is complete.
However, Roach noted that further funding will be required to restart production later this month, and potential revenue from tantalum and other minerals has yet to be factored into the financial outlook.
