Shabanie mine workers have downed tools in protest over the decision to create separate business units.
The disgruntled workers claim management unilaterally reached the decision without exhausting all the communication channels with workers representatives.
The workers allege the motive to create several units when the company is under judicial management has created divisions among workers with mining employees the highest-paid.
Information gathered revealed that the least paid employee gets $3600 dollars according to the National Employment Council (NEC) rate while those from security, administration and property division get $1200 dollars.
We could not, however, speak to Shabanie Mine Workers committee chairman Joel Masuku as he was said to be in a meeting by a Mr Nyoni who answered his phone.
