The Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Senator Larry Mavhima has called on the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) to speed up the rural electrification programme within the Midlands province.
Addressing a number of delegates at switching on ceremony for Manziamnyama Primary and Secondary Schools in Zhombe, Senator Larry Mavhima said rural electrification is key to the improvement of health care, education and access to clean water.
The Rural Electrification Agency’s main focus is to spearhead rapid and equitable electrification of rural areas in Zimbabwe. To date, the rural electrification programme has enabled the electrification of thousands of rural institutions, farms, villages, boreholes, dam points, and irrigation schemes.
