Fear of the unknown has robbed the life of a 14-year-old boy who stabbed himself to death with a kitchen knife fearing he might get in trouble with his father who had discovered that he had stolen a mobile phone.
Speaking to Great Dyke News 24, Masvingo Police Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Charity Mazula confirmed the incident saying the deceased, Nathan Mandifadza from Ndarama High School, Mucheke, killed himself fearing confrontation and punishment from his father after he stole a mobile phone.
Suicide, as defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is the act of deliberately killing oneself due to various reasons some ranging from mental disorder, depression, and neurological disorders, cancer and HIV infection.
