Traditional leadership in the Great Dyke says illegal mining activities continue to wreak havoc in rural communities and some criminal elements are now turning to stock theft, slaughtering villagersā livestock in some instances.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, Zvishavane rural ward 19 Headman Matshazi said the activities of the miners have made life difficult for villagers who rely on the land and livestock that the illegal miners are now plundering with impunity.
He also indicated that the communities are yet to see any action from law enforcement agents.
