The multi-genre 27 year old Mc Kampton born Hillary Takudzwa Mwedzi from Midlands province town of Kwekwe is set to release a mixtape featuring a number of  prominent artists.

In a statement by the Manager Byron Kabaira of Muvaz Media, people will have a chance to enjoy one song from the mixtape titled ‘Sorry’ and it features Poptain.

“Mc Kampton, together with his handlers at Muvaz Talent Management, is hard at work promoting the artiste’s latest body of work due for release in January 2023.

“The mixtape wittily titled ‘Flextape’ is simply described as ‘Flexing on a mixtape’.

“The artist basically goes on a humble bragging spree with an ultimate objective to explicitly exhibit his musical prowess. People will have a chance to enjoy one song from the mixtape titled ‘Sorry’ and it features Poptain.

“When the mixtape drops in 2023 the world shall definitely shake to the rumble of the beat as Tamy Moyo, Anita Jaxson, Takue, Shayne, and Divergence grace the project with world class features.

“The artiste wishes to lead the world through the mic. It is pertinent to mention that Mc Kampton strongly believes that his life story is another of God’s own great authorship. This is the centremost piece in the engine that propels his life philosophy,” read the statement.

According to Kabaira, MC Kampton was drawn to Reggae music at a tender age by the influence of his father who was a staunch lover of the genre.

By 14 years of age he began to write songs and within a year he had his first recording experience in 2010 after Dj Equation was impressed by a performance at a school function.

He took a hiatus from active music between 2015 and 2019 as he focused on his bachelor’s degree studies at Midlands State University. During this time he would occasionally record songs though he kept writing in his spare time.

After graduation it was time for Mc Kampton to leave Gweru for Harare where he met up with Vibe Hub Records Owner, Producer Leekay Di Man and recording artistes Poptain and Anita Jaxson.

At this point Kampton had no distractions from the music and the ensuing music catalogue speaks volumes of his potential. His versatility, aptitude, and consistency proves why Mc Kampton draws inspiration from global superstars like Popcaan, Drake, Chris Brown, Vybz Kartel, and Chris Martin as well as local artistes like Ricky Purplex and Culture Kid.
