In a bid to actively contribute to Zimbabwe’s development agenda, the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) has extended an invitation to its members to partake in crucial workshops focused on the Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASGM) strategy, Minerals and Development Policy, as well as the Value Addition and Beneficiation Strategy.
According to ZMF, the strategic workshop is an integral initiative devised by the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, aligning with the national goal of achieving an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. In a collaborative effort, each of the country’s eight provinces has been tasked with nominating eight representatives to actively engage in the forthcoming workshops.
The workshops, designed to shape and refine critical policies for the mining sector, are slated to play a pivotal role in steering the nation’s economic trajectory. The Ministry of Mines and Mining Development is spearheading the formulation of the Artisanal and Small-Scale Miners Strategy, Minerals Development Policy, and Value Addition and Beneficiation Strategy.
In an official statement released this week, ZMF highlighted the significance of active participation in the drafting process. The Ministry plans to conduct stakeholder consultations across the country’s eight mining provinces starting on February 25, 2024.
