Zimbabwean Lawmaker Urges Parliamentary Delegation to Address US Sanctions

Energy Mutodi, the Bikita South Legislator, has issued a fervent call to action. He implores members of the Zimbabwean parliament to embark on a diplomatic mission to the United States of America, with a singular purpose: to advocate for the lifting of sanctions against Zimbabwe.

Mutodi decried the sanctions as illegitimate and urged his fellow lawmakers to journey to Washington, D.C., where they can engage directly with the US Congress.

Today, President Joe Biden of the United States renewed the sanctions, maintaining their impact on Zimbabwean leaders.

Notably, several individuals have been removed from the sanctions list, signaling a nuanced approach. However, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, along with his wife Auxillia Mnangagwa, Vice President Constantine Chiwenga, and select military and police officers, remain under sanction.
